The KU.4 thimble by DROMET is a solid protective shape designed for 4 mm diameter ropes. Its dimensions and design are in accordance with the German DIN 6899B standard, which ensures precise fit and high functionality. The thimble has a profiled gutter , into which the rope enters about 2/3 of its diameter, which allows for safe and stable placement. Thanks to this, it can be used both by braiding and crimping, as well as by weaving into the rope structure.

The product is made of high-quality carbon steel and covered with a layer of zinc , which provides it with increased resistance to corrosion, mechanical deformation and negative effects of atmospheric factors. The use of durable material and compliance with the DIN6899B standard guarantee reliability in applications requiring high strength and durability of rope components.

Thimbles are mainly used in so-called working ropes, i.e. those that are exposed to movement, friction and significant loads during use. They are widely used, among others, in towing, lifting, sailing or transport ropes that move relative to the fastening element - such as a hook, shackle or snap hook. The thimble performs a protective function , preventing abrasion and deformation of the rope eye at its end. To ensure adequate durability and safety, the diameter of the rope should always be matched to the nominal size of the thimble. Thanks to this solution, the life of the ropes can be significantly extended and their stable operation in difficult conditions can be ensured. The product is also referred to as a metal fitting , cockle or collar.
