Transport belt harness for HILLS tow truck 0.4m/50mm/4t
The HILLS orange tow truck harness is an element made of durable polyester tape finished with reinforced loops (ears) on both sides. The total length of the harness is 0.4 meters, which provides an optimal length for use with transport belts on the tow truck. The width of the strap is 50 mm, providing an adequate pressure surface. The tow truck harness is characterized by a strength of 4 tons (4000 daN) in the strapping, thanks to which, in combination with a transport belt with a tensioner, it creates a reliable system for safe securing of vehicles during transport on the tow truck.
The lashing strap harness is a key element in the vehicle securing system on the trailer. Used in conjunction with the two-part lashing strap with tensioner, it creates an alternative solution to the three-point belt. The harness is threaded through the longer part of the wheel securing strap, and then the whole is tightened using the part equipped with the tensioner. This system uses two securing points on the platform of the trailer (as opposed to three in the case of the three-point belt), to which the hooks of the lashing strap are attached. This solution ensures effective immobilisation of the wheels of the transported vehicle, ensuring safe transport. IMPORTANT: the harness is used only for securing the load, not for suspending it.
HILLS cares about the quality of its trailer harnesses, which are manufactured from high-quality polyester tape, resistant to stretching and weather conditions. Reinforced loops on both ends of the harness ensure a safe and durable connection to the transport belt when securing the vehicle. Each harness has a legible label, secured with foil, with information in Polish and English. The products are designed for intensive professional use and long-term use in various weather conditions.
Tensile strength (LC)
The 4 ton (4000 daN) strength of the tow bar harness indicates the maximum load it can carry when securing the vehicle to the anchor points on the tow bar. The use of reinforced loops at both ends of the harness allows for even distribution of forces during securing, reducing the risk of damage at higher loads. In combination with the transport belt, it creates a system that provides stable and safe immobilisation of the vehicle during transport.
Straight Tension Strength (LC)
The trailer harness has a simple tension strength of 2 tons (2000 daN), which means the maximum force that a single loop at the attachment point can withstand. This value is half the strength of the strapping and determines the maximum safe load when the harness is simply tensioned. It should be remembered that to ensure safe transport, the vehicle should be secured symmetrically using an appropriate number of harnesses and transport belts. This solution ensures even distribution of forces and stable immobilization of the vehicle during transport on the trailer.
Maximum stretchability
Maximum stretch indicates the percentage increase in the length of the harness under full load. This is a percentage value that indicates how much the harness can stretch from its original length. Maximum stretch, usually around 7%, allows for shock absorption and smoothing out sudden changes in force during transport, which additionally protects the load from damage.
