Tyre size: 195/55 R10C.
The speed rating N means that the maximum speed at which you can drive your trailer equipped with such tyres is 140 km/h (approx 87 miles per hour).
Load capacity index of 98/96 simply means that the maximum permissible load which the tyre may bare is equal to 750 kg.
Fuel efficiency: E
Wet grip: C
Tyre noise rating: 72 dB
Fuel efficiency rating simply depicts the rolling resistance of the tyre. The lower the rating, the lower the fuel and energy consumption, which also acts favourably for the environment, as low fuel consumption significantly decreases CO2 emissions. Fuel efficiency is rated with the aid of an A to G rating. Having tyres one class higher means that you save approx 0.1 litre of petrol per 100 km. The different between class A and class G in fuel consumption is approx. 7.5%.
The wet grip rating is another key safety parameter of any tyre. Here, tyres are classified according to the amount of distance needed to bring a trailer or car to a complete halt on a wet road or surface. Again, the wet grip is classified with letters from A to G. The difference in the braking distance of neighbouring ratings on a wet surface when driving 80 km/h is approx 3 to 6 metres. The braking distance between ratings A and F is approx. 18 metres.
The tyre noise rating, as its name already suggests, is the last of the most important tyre parameters and it simply measures the noise that the tyre emits when rolling on a surface. It is measured in decibels (dB). The louder the noise, the less enjoyable the drive becomes. Loud tyres also have a negative impact on the environment. For instance, the difference between 75 dB and 72 dB may seem like a small change, but in reality, having 72 dB tyres instead of 75 dB tyres decreaes the noise levels by a half!
